Some people just see the world a bit differently. Standing out amongst the cookie-cutter frivolity of pop hip hop is Iowa-based Aeon Grey.
An accomplished producer and adept lyricist, Aeon Grey spins tales of struggle, self-awareness and society. Exasperated with the world and the people in it, Aeon Grey’s tracks are mesmerizing. Listening to his craft is like having a conversation with a tortured soul, just in from a blizzard, over sips of tea.
Aeon Grey has released a number of EP and full-length releases along with Instrumental lps. He's recorded on his own and as a member of the boundary-pushing group, Maxilla Blue. Following a year in which Aeon released two jarring projects (Paper Cranes with Sabicus and Still Life's Sabotage with Bashir) Aeon Grey’s next release will be his first on Uncommon Records, Lead Breakfast.
Lead Breakfast is self produced and sets new standards for the long time Central Standard artist. It features live players on guitar, keyboard and behind the turntables throughout that rip you to shreds and then mend you back together. Look for it in February 2013.
