As Kim Jung-Il passes, we bring back The Presence's "Hermit Kingdom" from 2009

News was released over the weekend that Kim Jung-Il has passed.  It's still at this point not known what the succession will be in North Korea.  These are troubling times in Asia.  We were reminded of The Presence's Hermit Kingdom which focused on this subject back in 2009 when 2 reporters for Current TV were kidnapped trying to report from the country.  The Presence (Nasa, now known on the mic as ADAM & Cirrus Minor) broke down the history, present and future of North Korea from an objective point of view.  The track was produced by Nasa with electric guitar playing added by DM Seidel.  Check it out.

New Subtitle. LP features The Presence, Gajah & More!

Go pick up Subtitle's new LP, Shark B.R.I.E.F. over at the Get Crev Bandcamp page.  Besides being a very dope album it features the first appearance of The Presence on a track since Why? on 2010's No Dough, No Show.  It's also got Gajah from Acid Reign and Uncommon collaborators Megabusive & Elucid, among others. This album is a raw peek at what will eventually become Shark BAIT which will be released later this year.

No Dough, No Show Compilation OUT NOW

Soap-Box Clothing (UK) and Uncommon Records present the: "No Dough, No Show" Compilation!  It features The Presence, Atari Blitzkrieg, Teddy Faley, Willie Green, Kitchen Khemistry, Taiyamo Denku, Short Fuze, Agartha Audio, Megabusive, Adam Warlock and much more!

The compilation is a joint project that ties together the themes of Soap-Box' recent Fall clothing line and centers in on struggling musicians from a first person perspective.  Each of the artists on the album created a track about the difficulties of making music in an era when everyone wants it for free.  From the artistic, to the financial implications, it's all laid out in stunning fashion.  The best thing that can come from this release is a further understanding of the relationship between artist and listener and the realization that we are all living under the same difficulties in life.

This is yet another FREE release from Uncommon Records which has already has brought you Masai Bey's "Collector's Bey" this month as well.  Further proof of the depth of talent here at Uncommon Records and our dedication to getting it to the public by all means neccessary.
