Let's Organize

Contributed by Nasa.

Let's just start right here, when I heard Organized Konfusion was re-united I immediately morphed into a screaching fan boy.  I completely nerded out on this.  Shot video, took pics, called people, all that.  That's just what it is.  There's not many Hip-Hop acts I would do that for, but OK is one of them.

BB King's is an ill venue, I had never been there before.  It's in the middle of Vegas, I mean Times Square.  It's in the really, really cheesy section of Times Square that I never had a reason to go to where there's like a Ripley's Museum and an AMC Theater.  It was like the Circus was in town, as you can see from these pics:

Finally, I get to the venue.  Meet up with DJ Dyllemma (who has a pocket full of free tix, even though I paid 30 bucks- whole other story) and a dude named Fred.  We wait around for Eleven, and then get in line looking for the doors to open at 10.  They didn't but that's cool.

We finally get in the spot and they are yelling about 10 bucks to sit down at the table.  Some how 4 people don't realise they mean a 10 dollar mininum instead of acutally paying 10 dollars to sit.  Hmm.  When we do sit we order the most obsurd plate of Nachos ever created by mankind.  Below are before & after photos:

They were friggin good despite how disgusting they looked.  Luckily we were in the dark.  That pic was with the flash on so I don't think we knew what we were really eating.

The spot was filled with familiar faces, some I knew and some I only knew of.  Ran into some old friends and some super heroes like O.C., Ski Beatz and Stezo among others.  This show felt like it used to back in the 90's.  People were there for one, the DJ was ill and played dope music and people stood and watched him spin.  These days most of the time people shit on the DJ and ignore him.  Not this crowd, they gave JS 1 all the respect he deserved for tearing it down.

The really cool point was standing in random places and just bumping into people I knew that I had no idea were coming.  That used to happen ALL THE TIME.  It's rare nowadays, because it's hard to get everyone the same message about a show and hard to get everyone in one place.  But back in the days that was the norm.  In any event as I stood (and got pretty close) and watched PRT and then OK perform I knew I was watching something historical.  There were many times when I turned to the person next to me and was like "WTF? This is crazy".  I haven't been a fan at a Hip-Hop show in about 13-15 years.  That's part of the gift and the curse of being involved in the underground scene and music in general.  Usually, I know the people on stage, so I give support and such, but it's different then straight up cheering for strangers that you respect.  When PRT was about to come out, I pretty much got up from the table and left those other guys for dead in order to get up front.  To this moment I have no idea where they watched the show from and frankly don't care, haha.  I've been going to a lot of Rock shows lately so I know how and when to make my move.  My bladder was killing me from the 3 beers I drank in an hour, tried to hold down the spot anyway, but had to forfeit.  I was ill enough to basically work my way all the way back to where I was though.  Venue Ninja skills on display.

The whole thing was totally refreshing. All I can say is, if you were in the NYC Tri State Area and didn't come to this show you should be ashamed of yourself.  Everybody has a reason, blah blah blah, but you gotta live life, this was once in a lifetime.  Luckily for all you squares, you know a nerd like me that filmed maaaad shit.

Check out www.youtube.com/uncommonrecords (Made an exception to the rule of only Uncommon Fam being posted there in this special case!)  I caught almost all the important parts of OK's set and a lot of PRT's too.

Below are some pics from that night.  Most of PRT's were blurry so I didn't post.  Wise Intellegent moves a lot and has mad energy on stage!  Haha.  Video of them is up though.  Peep.

His name is Chet Wilmont not Fred and he will beatbox anyone under the table. JS-1 KILLED it.

I swear I thought that guy said his name was Fred. Dang it. Haha.

For the record those nachos had shredded beef, chicken and pork mixed in with nachos and sour cream.
